DIRECTOR/TEACHER

CATHOLIC COMMUNITY KINDERGARTEN, BENTLEY PARK

Catholic Early Learning and Care (CELC) as an agency of the Catholic Diocese of Cairns, is a leading provider of childcare in the Cairns region which operates 11 Outside School Hours Care services, three long day care centres and two kindergartens. CELC offers quality early learning and care programs that are child-centred and holistic.

We are seeking a dedicated childcare professional for the permanent position of Director/Early Childhood Teacher for our Community Kindergarten. This will be a full-time position running two kindergarten programs.

The successful applicant will have strong leadership skills and potential to grow these further. You will also present with a strong knowledge of the EYLF, QKLG and NQS and be able to articulate its practical application within the service. You will exhibit excellent communication, planning, organisational and time management skills as well as developing and maintaining professional and respectful relationships with families, children, educators, support staff, owners and community stakeholders. Ideally, you will have had experience as a Director or a similar leadership role.

The successful applicant must have:

  • A Bachelor of Early Childhood Education or equivalent ACECQA approved qualification.
  • Strong knowledge of Queensland Kindergarten Learning Guidelines (QKLG)
  • Registration with Queensland College of Teachers
  • Current Positive Notice Blue Card or the ability to obtain
  • Recognised Senior First Aid, CPR, Anaphylaxis and Asthma Training or willingness to obtain
  • Excellent record keeping and organisational skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
