Location: St Gerard Majella School OSHC (Woree)

Hours: 35 hours

Catholic Early Learning and Care (CELC) as an agency of the Catholic Diocese of Cairns, is a leading provider of childcare in the Cairns region. We provide quality early learning, kindergarten and out of hours school care. Our aim is to create programs and services that nurture our child’s imagination, wellbeing and joy. We operate 11 outside school hours care services, two early learning centres, and a kindergarten in Bentley Park and Silkwood.  Our staff are a part of the community we support.

Your Opportunity

An exciting opportunity currently exists for you to join the CELC team as an OSHC Coordinator at Woree OSHC, located on the grounds of St Gerard Majella School, for 35 hours per week. Reporting to the Operations Manager Catholic Early Learning and Care, you will be required to lead a team of Educators, ensuring the highest standards of care are provided, in compliance with industry and national regulations. You will be responsible for the daily management of a large service, whilst embracing the values and vision of our Diocese.

Your role:

  • Ensure the highest standards of care are provided, in compliance with industry and national regulations.
  • Oversee the delivery of a high quality, inclusive and educational program.
  • Manage day to day operations of the service including staffing, administration and financial management tasks.
  • Provide children with a safe, secure, inclusive and nurturing environment.
  • Monitor the implementation of the Spirituality in the Early Years Program and the School Age Care Framework -My Time Our Place.
  • Build effective and healthy partnerships with team members, families and the community through effective, respectful relationships and open communication.

 

Essential Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Experience in working within a childcare environment – desirable
  • Completed a minimum of a Diploma of Children’s Services (Early Childhood Education and Care) or other relevant industry qualifications – or working towards
  • Experience working in a supervisory role within the childcare industry, preferred
  • Excellent working knowledge of the National Quality Standards and The National Quality Framework (Education and Care Services National Regulations 2011 and Education & Care Services National Law 2010).
  • Intermediate computer skills including experience with childcare management software
  • Current Positive Notice Blue Card or the ability to obtain
  • Recognised Senior First Aid, CPR, Anaphylaxis and Asthma Training or willingness to obtain
  • It is a condition of employment for this role for the employee to be, and remain, vaccinated against COVID-19.  Evidence of vaccination will be required prior to commencement.
